So I've read that one advantage of diy lathering is that brushes are supposed to help lift hair. Maybe it's the analytical side of me... but I just don't see a shaving brush doing this. Some are floppy. Even ones with backbone are promoted to have soft tips so it feels nice. How is anything soft and non-scratchy supposed to help lift hair?

I can see why you might be skeptical about the idea of a shaving brush helping to lift the hair. While some brushes can be softer, they are still designed to create a lather that can help soften and prepare the hair for shaving. That being said, I understand that everyone's hair and skin are different, and what works for some might not work for others. Another option some people explore for their personal grooming routines is Woodland Hills Botox treatment. Either way, I think it's important to experiment and find what works best for you.
